Smart Hub Flemish Brabant has launched the innovative online platform ‘Health Experience’. The virtual tour gives exclusive insights into the ground-breaking projects of Materialise, imec, Health House, Rega Institute KU Leuven, Brussels Airport and B-PHOT Brussels Photonics.

“Flemish Brabant is brimming with knowledge and talent in the field of healthcare and technology,” says Ann Schevenels, deputy for economy and innovation. “That translates into many success stories. To raise awareness of their smart solutions, we are launching a new web application today. A virtual reality experience will follow in the autumn. Smart Hub Flemish Brabant puts our region even more firmly on the map as the ‘smart region in the heart of Europe’.”

Health Experience focuses on six important health innovators in Flemish Brabant. By means of a flexible and self-driven virtual tour, online visitors get exclusive insight into the following companies and knowledge institutes:

Materialise is an authority on medical applications in 3D printing. Learn how 3D
technology helps surgeons in the operating room.

Visit imec, world renowned for its nanoelectronics and digital technology.
Learn about the neuroprobe that studies brain processes.

The future of health and healthcare? Discover it at Health House, an expertise
centre based in Leuven.

The Rega Institute KU Leuven is a pioneer in the fight against infectious
diseases. Take a look inside CAPS-IT, an impressive robotic system for
researching viruses with a high-risk factor.

Get on the tarmac of Brussels Airport. Meet the ‘cool dolly’; it transports
refrigerated medical products, without temperature shocks, from warehouse to
plane.

At B-PHOT Brussels Photonics they know everything about the unique
properties of light. The center uses this technology for numerous innovations.

“We want to strengthen our foreign trade position with Smart Hub Flemish Brabant,” says Tom Dehaene, deputy for smart region and internationalization. “The focus will then be primarily on five innovative top regions with which our province has close ties. These are North Brabant, Rhein-Neckar, Skåne, the capital region of Denmark, and Chengdu in China. In the current circumstances, digital resources are an extra step to establishing or consolidating international contacts.”

The web experience was created through a collaboration between Smart Hub Flemish Brabant, Health House and Nanopixel.
