GSK Vaccines, a world leader in vaccines based in Wavre, wins the biennial essenscia Innovation Award thanks to its candidate vaccine against shingles. The Innovation Award is the award for the most promising innovation in the Belgian chemical and life sciences sector. “It’s never easy to compare projects from such different domains, but the jury was unanimous on the choice of the winner,” says François Cornélis, jury chairman and former head of PetroFina and ToTal. “This is top Belgian research, which will create  added value and more employment.”
