Tomorrow, November 5th, the World Biotech Tour will land in Technopolis. It marks the last day of the tour’s Belgian stop, after a feature on the Biotech Day at the KUL. If you want to experience the excitement of biotechnology first hand and learn how it already impacts your daily life, now is your chance. Visitors can participate in numerous mini-experiments. Learn how to kill a virus with antibodies or take a ‘cellfie’ of your own cheek cells! Here you can find more information on the event.
Next to the exposition, seven young ambassadors will present their biotech projects to a jury during a ‘science slam’. As a prize, the winner gets to attend the grand final event of the world tour as the Belgian representative. This closing ceremony will take place in 2017 in Tokyo, Japan.
The coming 2 years, the World Biotech Tour will visit 9 other science centers across the world, organizing 3-day science festivals. In this way, the tour wants to spread the interest in biotechnology and bring its wonders closer to the general public.
