This is a new innovation platform where knowledge centers, companies and organizatios that are active in R&D of vaccines, can meet. Belgium has a strong reputation when it comes to the development of vaccines. “Think of the vaccines against hepatitis B, hepatitis A, HPV and ebola”, says Prof. Dr. Pierre Van Damme (VAXINFECTIO, University of Antwerp). The knowledge and experience of VAXINFECTO (University of Antwerp), PROVAKS (Ghent University), FlandersBio, BioMaric (Zwijnaarde), BIOMED and LifeTechLimburg (University of Hasselt) is now centralized. This assures and reinforces the leading position for the development and improvement of vaccines.
