This new initiatve brings together organizations and companies developing medical software and imaging technology, implants and other medical technological innovations. The worldwide medtech market value reaches 350 billion dollars. “Flanders houses top-researchers developing medical high technology, but very few succeed in commercializing these innovations”, according to Roger Lemmens, Director of iMinds health and one of the coordinators. “MedTech Flanders will leverage the development of new products, support existing companies and worldwide distribution.”
FLUIDDA hosted the launch event. FLUIDDA is one of the 19 organizations that initiated MedTech Flanders. CEO Jan De Backer introduced aerodynamics technology in healthcare, resulting in innovative imaging technology providing a unique 3D-insight in the lungs. FLUIDDA’s technology helps to develop better aerosol dispensers and bring drugs for patients suffering from respiratory diseases faster to the market.
